Presented by the Esplanade, Baybeats presents a fist-pumping line-up showcasing prominent Singapore and international acts such as Rag n' Bone, FXTRT and many more, which covers genres including folk, pop, metal, post-rock, emo, punk, electro and everything in between.
Alongside the Baybeats Budding initiatives, this show stopping festival gathers the best of home grown talent not only in music-making but also in other creative fields of music journalism, gig photography, video arts and more.

Rag n' Bone are an Australian band with shared interests in distortion, despair and decadence. Their finely honed and sharp sound, twisted and cracked to form through countless live shows, with comparisons ranging from Savages to The Birthday Party to Midnight Oil. They won the Western Australian Song of the Year award for two years running in the punk and rock categories, and have performed in Réunion Island and China.

Bakers in Space is an indie post-psych rock band formed in 2013. The band extracts prime elements from indie-rock, psych rock, punk and reggae elements into their songs, aiming to catch the attention of crowds with a culmination of styles that is both chill yet full of energy. They draw influences from Tame Impala, Arctic Monkeys, Foals, Queens of the Stone Age, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and David Bowie.

Astreal sends up a sonic assault laced with quiet melancholia and discordant angel-on-acid melodies. Since 1992, the noise merchants have released three albums, two EPs, played countless times in seminal gigs and festivals across Southeast Asia such as Baybeats, ZoukOut, Bangkok Rock, Laneway Festival Singapore, Channel 5’s Live n Loaded and a solo show at Esplanade Recital Studio. They were named Best Band of 2007 by Juice Magazine and tipped to be one of 17 Most Anticipated Singapore Albums of 2017 by Bandwagon. Astreal is Ginette Chittick (vocals & bass), Muhammad Alkhatib (guitar), Jason Ang (synths) and Joseph Chian (drums).
